I Istalled Firefox and I was very happy, but later I get a window with the following:The connection is timed out,or check the firewall if is allowing Firefox proxy. What’s proxy and how I do that? I’m computer illiterate. Oh, by the way I check the firewall but can’t find Firefox in the list. It’s all words with a few letters and they don’t make sense. Please help me step by step?!!! Norton Performance Alert, High Cpu Usage Program Seamonkey. What Does This Mean I Should Uninstall Norton?

According to Norton Internet Security 2011 Beta, practically every computer program I am running gets a high CPU usage in Norton Performance Alert. This never happened with Norton Internet Security 2010 or earlier. Do I have to buy another computer just to use Norton Internet Security 2011? Or do I need to uninstall NIS 2011 Beta and run the computer without the latest Firewall by Norton?
I don’t know any other program. I have used Norton Anti Virus since it was first created. Not McAfee or Zone Alarm. Just good Old Norton. It uses more CPU memory than TheSims2 or TheSims3 and that is a lot!

How is it with those things? I think i can only have 1 firewall running, but what about antivirus, realtime protection and spyware cleaners etc?
Atm i got windows firewall and avg free. I would like a better once since my pc is infected and AVG cant solve it.
Im looking into Avast antivirus+antispyware please advise
Constant Blue-screens On My Pc?

Im having lots of problems on my pc, and are unsure what to do. So here’s the situation: I don’t/didn’t have a running firewall or anti-virus software(my bad) at the time this started, and lots of installers popped up on the screen. I turned off the internet and reset my laptop, but the problem still persisted. When i try to run windows normally, i get various bluescreen errors, one was ‘PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA’. I’ve ran windows in safe-mode and used anti-malware software(only software available to me) and have used windows defender to stop any unfamiliar programs from running at startup. This seems to have stopped the infection, and the anti-malware did remove some infected files, but i can’t say its gone altogether as my laptop won’t stay on long enough before blue-screening. Basically:
-I can’t run windows normally.
-I’m getting different blue-screen errors
-there may still be an infection on my computer
I need to avoid losing everything on my pc, can anyone help me out please???

I am trying to play Sims 2, it is already downloaded, and every time i try to load it to play I get a message that says “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.”.
I have searched all over trying to find a solution but nothing has worked.
I only have one user account on the computer (as administrator), if that makes a difference.
My Firewall is not on so its not blocking anything.
I don’t know where to go or what to do.
The computer i am using for it is Windows, and it does not have internet.
Any ideas?

So I can’t go on internet at all even though my signal strengths good.

I’ve used WireShark before, and I’m looking for a method other than third party software that will allow myself to see what IP addresses my computer is contacting, or communicating with. Or what the same for what my router is doing. Essentially, I want to be able to monitor the communication of my computer, like a firewall would. Even if this means programming a 1000+ Line script.

OK so ill give ya the layout. I live in a 3 story house its very old with my room bein on the second and our internet modem box thing downstairs, that is the only place our internet can go cuz its not through the phone cables its with the cable cable we got mediacomm so these past few months i have been playin live through my laptop piggybackin it off of it.But my internet is only one bar reception in my room up here, and i have to turn my firewall off for live if i want an open nat and be able to download xbox live updates. My question to yall is should i get the xbox wireless adapter for the 360 to help my connection? Or since its bein too far from the modem what can i do to boost my range/ connection?
